그러나 합천군은 선제적 대응부터 긴급대피 조치까지 군민 안전을 최우선으로 단 한명의 인명피해도 발생하지 않았다.
이제 합천군은 한 달 만에 응급복구율 95%를 달성하며 군민의 생활 터전을 다시 일으키고 있다.
◇ 1,084억 피해에도 한 달 만에 응급복구 마무리
7월 16일부터 20일까지 이어진 기록적인 폭우로 합천군은 공공시설 860억 원, 사유시설 224억 원 등 총 1,084억 원의 피해를 입었다.
도로와 교량 유실, 농경지와 주택 침수 등 군민들이 입은 피해는 컸지만, 군의 신속하고 적극적인 대응으로 인명피해는 없었다.

합천군은 국비와 도비를 포함해 총 3,840억 원의 복구 예산을 확보하고 공공·사유시설 복구를 본격화하고 있다.
이번 복구에서는 기존 보상 기준을 뛰어넘는 실질적 지원책이 마련됐다.
전파 주택에는 최대 6,000만 원, 반파 주택에는 그 절반을 위로금으로 지원하며 풍수해보험 가입자 또한 추정 보험금에 따라 최대 3,200만 원을 추가로 지원받을 수 있다.

합천군은 개선복구와 기능복구를 조속히 추진하기 위해 재해복구 전담 TF팀을 구성해 운영한다.
