안규백 국방부장관은 방한 중인 앤지 모체카(Angie Motshekga) 남아공 국방·보훈부장관과 회담을 갖고 양국 간 국방 및 방산 분야 협력 확대 방안을 논의했다.
안 장관은 "유엔사 회원국이자 6·25전쟁 참전국인 남아공의 헌신과 희생에 깊은 감사를 표하며, 대한민국이 자유민주주의를 지키고 오늘날의 번영을 이루는 데 있어 남아공의 기여가 컸다"고 평가했다.
