전북 익산시가 '2026년 축산악취 개선 사업' 공모에 최종 선정돼 국비를 포함한 총 사업비 21억 원을 확보해 축산악취 개선을 위한 다양한 사업 추진에 탄력을 받게 됐다.
농림축산식품부가 주관한 이번 공모는 가축 분뇨의 적정 처리를 위한 처리방식 개선ㆍ축산분야 악취 저감ㆍ축산을 연계한 자원 순환 활성화 등을 위한 시설과 장비를 지원하기 위해 마련됐다.
악취 민원이 잦은 지역의 경우 주민과 축산농가 간 갈등 해소와 지속가능한 축산환경 조성을 위한 핵심 사업으로 평가받는다.
익산시는 이번 전국 공모에서 51개 시군이 신청한 가운데 시ㆍ도별 1차 평가와 농림축산식품부 2차 중앙 평가를 거쳐 종합 점수 상위 20개 시군이 최종 선정됐으며 21억 원의 사업비를 확보해 축산악취 저감과 지속 가능한 축산업 발전을 위한 발판을 마련했다고 16일 밝혔다.
