【브레이크뉴스 울릉】전종환 기자=‘찾아가는 울릉공항 건설공사 주민설명회’가 지난 15일 열렸다.
울릉군에 따르면 이번 설명회는 2028년 상반기 개항(2027년 완공) 목표로 건설되고 있는 울릉도 최대의 국가사업인 울릉공항 건설공사 현황과 향후 울릉공항에 적용되는 각종 안전대책에 대해 설명하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 설명회는 울릉공항 건설공사를 주관하는 국토교통부 공항건설팀 및 발주청인 부산지방항공청 공항시설과 관계자와 한국공항공사, DL이앤씨(시공사), 한국종합기술(감리단) 등이 참여했다.
울릉군은 남한권 울릉군수, 최병호, 홍성근 울릉군의회 의원 그리고 울릉공항 활주로 연장 추진위원회 위원들과 울릉공항 건설공사에 관심 있는 울릉군 주민들 등이 참석했다.
참석자들은 울릉공항 활주로 연장 필요성에 대한 논의, 종단안전구역 확장 요구안 검토, 계기비행 방식 전환 가능성에 대한 논의 등 현재 건설 진행 중인 울릉공항의 안전성과 관련된 심도 있게 논의했다.
남한권 울릉군수는 “찾아가는 울릉공항 건설공사 주민설명회를 마련해 주신 국토교통부 및 부산지방항공청 관계자 여러분께 깊이 감사드린다.”며 “앞으로도 울릉군은 안전한 울릉공항 건설을 위해 유관기관과 긴밀히 협조하고, 울릉공항 안전성 강화에 대한 주민의 목소리를 중앙정부에 적극적으로 전달하는 역할을 수행, 안전한 울릉공항 건설에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

The “Ulleung Airport Construction Resident Briefing Session” was held on the 15th.

The briefing session was attended by representatives from the Airport Construction Team of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, which is overseeing the Ulleung Airport construction project; the Airport Facilities Division of the Busan Regional Aviation Office, the ordering agency; Korea Airports Corporation; DL E&C (construction company); and Korea Engineering & Construction (supervision team).
Ulleung County officials included the County Mayor of Namhankwon, Ulleung County Council members Choi Byeong-ho and Hong Seong-geun, members of the Ulleung Airport Runway Extension Promotion Committee, and Ulleung County residents interested in the Ulleung Airport construction project.
Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the safety of Ulleung Airport, currently under construction, including the need for a runway extension, review of proposed expansion of the terminal safety zone, and the possibility of transitioning to instrument flight control.
Ulleung County Mayor Nam Han-kwon stated, "I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Busan Regional Aviation Office for organizing this on-site information session for residents regarding the Ulleung Airport construction project." He added, "Ulleung County will continue to work closely with relevant organizations to ensure the safety of Ulleung Airport. We will actively convey residents' voices regarding safety enhancements to the central government and dedicate ourselves to building a safe Ulleung Airport."
