경기북부보훈지청이 19일 파주 한민고등학교 JROTC(Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps) 학생들과 함께 육군사관학교에서 '제3차 보훈사적지 탐방'을 실시했다고 발표했다.
이번 탐방은 청소년들이 현충시설을 직접 체험하며 나라사랑 정신과 보훈의 참된 의미를 깨닫도록 기획된 교육 프로그램이다.

행사에는 한민고 JROTC 1~2학년 학생과 교직원 등 총 42명이 참여했다.
학생들은 육군사관학교 박물관과 교훈탑을 견학하며 우리 군의 유구한 역사와 전통에 대해 배우는 시간을 가졌다.
특히 승마와 국궁 등 상무 활동에 직접 참여해 군인의 기상과 정신력을 체험했다.
이번 탐방은 지난 3월 경기북부보훈지청과 한민고등학교가 체결한 '현충시설 활성화 결연 협약'에 따른 것이다.
양 기관은 윌리엄 E. 웨버 대령과 존 K. 싱글러브 장군 추모비를 중심으로 다양한 교육·체험·정화 활동을 공동으로 추진하기로 합의했으며, 한민고 JROTC는 국가유공자 주거개선 봉사활동과 서울현충원 참배 등 폭넓은 보훈 활동에 적극 참여하고 있다.
경기북부보훈지청은 "이번 탐방을 통해 청소년들이 나라사랑 정신을 다시 한번 되새기는 소중한 계기가 됐다"고 평가하며, "앞으로도 보훈사적지 탐방과 봉사활동 등 청소년들이 직접 참여할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영해 나갈 계획"이라고 밝혔다.

The Gyeonggi Northern Veterans Affairs Office announced on the 19th that it held the "Third Visit to Historic Sites" at the Korea Military Academy with students from the Paju Hanmin High School JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps).
