동해해경, 먼 해상서 손목 절단 선원 긴급 구조

해경에 따르면 이날 오전 3시 45분께 9.77톤급 통발 어선 A호에서 작업 중이던 선원 B씨(50대, 남)가 양망작업 도중 왼쪽 손목이 절단되는 사고가 발생했다.

신고를 접수한 동해해경은 즉시 포항항공대 헬기와 경비함정 1510함을 현장으로 급파했다. 오전 4시 56분께 도착한 경비함정은 약 15분간의 구조작업 끝에 B씨를 안전하게 이송했으며, 이후 응급구조사가 원격의료시스템을 활용해 인대가 일부 붙어 있는 상태를 확인하고 소독과 붕대 교체 등 긴급 처치를 실시했다.

B씨는 어지럼증을 호소했으나 혈압과 맥박은 안정적인 상태였다. 오전 5시 48분 포항항공대 헬기를 통해 포항경주공항으로 옮겨졌으며, 대기 중이던 경북119특수대응단에 인계된 뒤 대구 C병원으로 이송됐다.

동해해경청 관계자는 “먼 바다에서 발생한 응급상황에도 경비함정, 항공대, 경북소방이 긴밀히 협조해 신속히 구조할 수 있었다”며 “바다는 언제든 위급상황으로 이어질 수 있는 만큼 국민의 생명과 안전을 지키는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

East Sea Coast Guard Rescues Sailor Who Severed His Wrist Offshore

The East Sea Regional Coast Guard (Commissioner Kim Seong-jong) announced that it rescued and transported a sailor who suffered an amputated wrist approximately 167km east of Homigot, Nam-gu, Pohang, early in the morning on the 1st. The patrol ship arrived at 4:56 a.m. and, after approximately 15 minutes of rescue, safely transported B. Emergency medical technicians then used a remote medical system to confirm the partial attachment of his ligament and administered emergency treatment, including disinfection and bandage replacement.

Although B complained of dizziness, his blood pressure and pulse remained stable. At 5:48 a.m., he was transported to Pohang-Gyeongju Airport via a Pohang Aerospace University helicopter, where he was handed over to the Gyeongbuk 119 Special Response Team on standby and then transferred to Daegu C Hospital.

An official from the East Sea Coast Guard said, "Despite the emergency situation occurring in the open sea, the patrol ship, the Air Force, and the Gyeongbuk Fire Department worked closely together to ensure a swift rescue. We will do our utmost to protect the lives and safety of our citizens, as the sea can escalate into an emergency at any time."
