【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청(교육감 임종식)이 IB(International Baccalaureate) 연수를 통해 교사 전문성 신장을 위한 지원을 강화하고 있다고 13일 밝혔다.
지난달 25일 김천여자고등학교에서 열린 ‘IB 철학 기반 수업 설계 전달 연수’는 교사들이 스스로 기획하고 참여하는 자발적 전문 학습문화를 확산하는 계기가 됐다.
이번 연수는 IB 연수 경험을 학교 현장의 수업 탐구 학습공동체 교사들과 공유하고, 학습자 중심 수업 철학과 교수·학습 방법을 구체적으로 탐구하기 위해 마련됐다.
단순 강의 전달 방식을 벗어나 탐구, 체험, 성찰, 협업 중심의 참여형 워크숍으로 진행되며, 교사들이 직접 IB 수업을 체험하고 설계 과정을 고민할 수 있도록 구성됐다.
연수에서는 지난 7월 경북교육청 주최 ‘IB OPEN CLASS’ 활동을 재구성해 교사들이 학습자의 관점에서 수업을 경험하고, IB Summer School 사례를 바탕으로 소규모 팀별 수업 설계 워크숍을 운영했다.
교사들은 협업 토론과 피드백을 통해 실제 교실에 적용 가능한 수업 개선 방안을 도출하며, 교사 주도형 수업 혁신 모델을 구체화했다.
김천여자고등학교는 이번 연수를 계기로 학교 내부에 전문 학습공동체를 자발적으로 조직하고, 이를 통해 탐구 기반·개념 중심 수업문화를 확산하고 있다. 연수에서 도출된 수업 설계안과 피드백 자료는 교내 학습공동체에 공유돼 IB 수업문화의 지속적 확산에 기여할 예정이다.
임종식 교육감은 “이번 연수는 IB가 지향하는 학습자 중심 교육과 함께 교사가 스스로 배우고 성장하는 문화를 조성했다는 점에서 의미가 크다”며 “앞으로도 학교 안에서 교사들이 자발적으로 협력하고 전문성을 키울 수 있도록 다양한 지원을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

Gimcheon Girls' High School voluntarily established a professional learning community within the school, fostering an inquiry-based and concept-centered learning culture. Lesson plans and feedback derived from the training will be shared with the school's learning community, contributing to the continued spread of the IB teaching culture.
Superintendent Lim Jong-sik stated, "This training is significant in that it fostered a culture of self-directed learning and growth for teachers, along with the learner-centered education that the IB pursues. We will continue to provide diverse support to encourage teachers to collaborate voluntarily and cultivate their expertise."
