【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대경대학교 연기예술과 뮤지컬팀이 오는 20일 중국 상하이 최대 연극·뮤지컬 축제인 프린지 빌 페스티벌 폐막식 무대에 오른다.
상하이 민간예술단체 소석문화상해 유한회사가 여는 이번 축제는 상하이를 대표하는 공연예술 축제다.
올해는 소석문화 주한 대표이자 극단 제자백가 이훈경 대표가 한중 공연예술 교류를 넓히기 위해 국내에서도 페스티벌을 함께 열며 협력 관계를 강화하고 있다.
남녀 전공자 4명으로 꾸린 팀은 K-뮤지컬 대표곡들로 갈라쇼를 준비 중이다. 솔로와 듀엣, 앙상블 넘버 등 총 5곡을 선보일 예정이다.
이훈경 대표는 "대경대 한류캠퍼스 연기예술과 뮤지컬 전공자들은 국내 주요 뮤지컬대회에서 대상과 연기상을 받을 만큼 뛰어난 실력을 갖췄다"며 "중국과 상하이에서 활동하는 프로 연출가와 예술가들이 함께하는 이번 무대가 지속적인 한중 공연예술 교류의 장이 될 것"이라고 말했다.
김찬영 지도교수는 "학생들이 K-뮤지컬의 강점을 무대에서 충분히 보여줄 수 있도록 준비하고 있다"며 "이번 공연이 한국 뮤지컬 전공자들의 저력을 알리는 계기가 될 것"이라고 강조했다.
대경대 연기예술과 뮤지컬 전공은 대구국제뮤지컬페스티벌 대상·금상을 비롯해 다수의 국내 연극·뮤지컬 축제에서 실력을 인정받아 왔다.
이들은 중국 무대 이후 경기문화재단이 여는 '경기 대학생 뮤지컬 페스티벌'에 참가해 뮤지컬 '넥스트 투 노멀' 공연도 준비하고 있다.

The musical team from Daekyung University's Department of Performing Arts will perform at the closing ceremony of the Fringeville Festival, Shanghai's largest theater and musical festival, on the 20th.
This festival, hosted by Shanghai's private arts organization Soshi Culture Shanghai Limited, is Shanghai's leading performing arts festival.

Director Lee Hoon-kyung stated, "The students from Daekyung University's Hallyu Campus' Department of Performing Arts and Musical Theatre have demonstrated exceptional talent, having won grand prizes and acting awards at major domestic musical competitions. This performance, featuring professional directors and artists active in China and Shanghai, will serve as a platform for continued exchange in the performing arts between Korea and China."
Professor Kim Chan-young emphasized, "We are preparing to ensure that the students can fully demonstrate the strengths of K-musicals on stage," and added, "This performance will serve as an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of Korean musical theater majors."
Daekyung University's Department of Performing Arts and Musical Arts major have been recognized for their talent at numerous domestic theater and musical festivals, including winning the grand prize and gold medal at the Daegu International Musical Festival.
Following their performance on the Chinese stage, they are also participating in the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation's "Gyeonggi University Student Musical Festival" and preparing to perform the musical "Next to Normal."
