파주시 적성도서관이 국립중앙도서관 주최 '제19회 도서관 혁신 아이디어 및 우수 현장사례-지역사회와 생동(生動)하는 도서관' 공모전에서 국립중앙도서관장상을 수상했다.

적성도서관은 이번 공모전에서 지역의 특색 있는 역사, 자연, 산업 자원을 발굴하고 소개하는 지역 맞춤 정보 제공 및 연계 독서 프로그램 운영 사례인 '적성도서관, 마을을 큐레이팅하다'를 주제로 높은 평가를 받았다.
특히, 인구 소멸 위기 지역인 파주시 적성면에서 지역 자원을 활용해 전시, 체험, 탐방 활동을 융합한 차별화된 독서문화 프로그램을 운영한 점이 도서관 혁신에 기여한 창의적 사례로 주목받았다.
적성도서관은 2022년 1월부터 총 14개의 주제를 엄선하여 분기별로 '마을 큐레이션'을 진행해왔다.
대표 프로그램으로는 ▲역사 분야에서 '아슐리안 주먹도끼'로 교과서에 실린 적성면 가월리·주월리 유적지를 탐방하는 '선사시대 보물찾기' ▲자연 분야에서 지역 명산 감악산을 주제로 한 탐방 프로젝트 '느히가 감악산을 아느냐' ▲산업 분야에서 국제슬로푸드협회 '맛의 방주'에 등재된 '장단백목'을 주제로 한 프로그램 등이 있다.
이인숙 문산도서관장은 "이번 수상을 통해 적성도서관의 사례가 공공도서관의 지역 연계 사업 모범으로 널리 확산되기를 기대한다"라며, "앞으로도 지역의 고유한 자원을 기반으로 한 독창적인 도서관 서비스를 지속적으로 발굴 및 운영해 나가겠다"라고 말했다.

Jeokseong Library received high praise for its "Jeokseong Library, Curating a Village," a case study that explores and introduces the region's unique historical, natural, and industrial resources, providing customized information and operating a linked reading program.
