재단에 따르면, 이번 사업은 기존의 단순 창작 지원을 넘어 창작물의 유통·확산을 통해 지역 예술생태계에 선순환 구조를 마련하고 시민들이 다양한 형태의 콘텐츠를 향유할 수 있도록 위해 추진됐다.
선정된 문학 작품은 전문 오디오북 제작업체를 통해 약 1시간 분량의 오디오북으로 제작됐다.
작가가 오디오북의 제작 방향을 함께 논의하고 실제 성우가 녹음하는 현장에 참석하는 등 제작 과정 전반에 적극적으로 참여하며 작품의 완성도를 높였다.
인천문화재단 관계자는 “인천 예술인의 문학 분야 창작 활동이 오디오북이라는 새로운 형식으로 확산되는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 지역 예술인의 안정적이고 지속 가능한 창작 활동 기반을 마련하기 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
완성된 오디오북 5종은 현재 교보문고, 알라딘, 예스24 등 주요 오디오 콘텐츠 유통 플랫폼을 통해 공개 중이다.
