이번 협약은 같은 지명을 지닌 두 지역의 상호 교류·협력 기반을 구축하고, 지역 공동체 발전을 위한 협력 의지를 다지기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 예산군 덕산면은 진천군에 고향 사랑 기부금 220만원을 전달하며, 지역 간 유대감을 강화하고 상호 신뢰와 협력의 상징적 의미를 더했다.
이번 전달식은 지난해 11월 진천군 덕산읍 주민자치회가 예산군에 전달한 고향 사랑 기부금에 대한 화답의 의미로 마련됐다.
유영재 덕산읍 주민자치회장은 “이번 자매결연을 통해 두 지역이 함께 성장하고 발전하는 계기를 마련하게 돼 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 교류 활동을 통해 주민들의 삶의 질 향상에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
