세종특별자치시가 지역 사이버보안 꿈나무들을 미래의 핵심 인재로 육성하기 위한 ‘핵테온 세종 청소년 사이버보안 챌린지’를 올해 처음으로 선보인다.
단순한 경쟁 위주의 대회를 넘어 전문가의 심도 있는 교육을 결합해 청소년들에게 실질적인 성장의 기회를 제공한다는 취지다.
이를 위해 세종시는 오는 28일까지 세종시 내 중·고등학생을 대상으로 참가자를 모집한다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 세종시의 대표적 보안 행사인 ‘핵테온 세종’의 일환으로 기획됐으며, 내달 2일부터 6일까지 닷새간 사이버보안 인재 양성을 위한 집중 프로그램이 운영된다.
챌린지의 전반부인 내달 2일부터 5일까지는 역량 강화 심화 교육이 진행된다. 인공지능(AI) 보안, 네트워크 시스템 이해, 웹 취약점 분석 및 대응 등 기술적 이론은 물론, 올바른 보안 의식을 위한 사이버보안 윤리 교육도 병행한다.
학생들은 이론과 실습을 통해 흥미로우면서도 실용적인 보안 지식을 습득하게 된다.
마지막 날인 6일에는 그동안 배운 실력을 겨루는 문제풀이 방식(CTF, Capture The Flag)의 사이버보안 경진대회가 열린다. 특히 이날은 세계적 보안 대회인 ‘코드게이트’ 우승 등 화려한 경력을 가진 전문가들이 강사로 참여해 청소년들에게 생생한 현장의 경험과 최신 보안 트렌드를 전달할 예정이다.
참가 학생들에 대한 혜택도 풍성하다. 교육 과정을 성실히 이수한 학생 전원에게는 세종시장 명의의 수료증이 발급된다. 경진대회 우수 성적자에게는 세종시장상, 세종시교육감상, 세종남부경찰서장상이 각각 1명씩 수여되어 미래 보안 전문가로서의 자긍심을 높여줄 계획이다.
세종시 관계자는 “이번 챌린지를 통해 우리 지역 청소년들이 사이버보안 분야에 대한 꿈을 키우고 잠재력을 발굴하는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “미래 국가 안보의 주역이 될 인재들을 양성하기 위해 앞으로도 다양한 지원 프로그램을 마련하겠다”고 말했다.
