경기북부보훈지청이 지난 26일 양평군청을 방문해 보훈문화 확산에 기여한 공로를 인정받은 노인복지과 김은정 주무관에게 국가보훈부 장관 명의 표창을 전수했다.
2013년 공직 입문 이후 양평지역 국가유공자 지원 업무를 담당해온 김 주무관은 보훈 행정 전반에 걸쳐 헌신적인 노력을 기울여왔다.
특히 지역 보훈가족을 위한 제도 개선에 앞장서며 현장 중심의 행정을 펼쳐온 점이 높은 평가를 받았다.

김 주무관이 이번 표창을 받게 된 결정적 계기는 올해 제정된 「양평군 국가유공자 우선주차구역 설치 및 운영에 관한 조례」다.
김 주무관은 이 조례의 도입 과정에서 실무를 주도적으로 이끌며 보훈가족의 실질적 편의 증진에 기여한 공로를 인정받았다.
이날 표창 전수식에는 양평군 내 각 보훈단체 지회장들이 참석해 김 주무관의 수상을 축하했다.
김 주무관은 "보훈가족분들이 계셔서 지금의 우리가 있다고 생각하며 맡은 바 업무에 임해왔을 뿐"이라며 겸손한 소감을 밝혔다.
이어 "앞으로도 보훈가족을 위한 행정에 최선을 다하겠다"고 다짐했다.
