인천 강화군에 이어 경기도 고양특례시에서도 구제역 확진 사례가 발생하면서 방역당국에 비상이 걸렸다.
고양시에 따르면 지난 19일 오전 10시 30분경 시내 한 한우 사육농장에서 소들이 식욕부진과 침 흘림, 콧등 가피 등 구제역 의심 증상을 보인다는 신고가 접수됐다.
이후 경기도 동물위생시험소의 정밀 검사를 거쳐 같은 날 오후 10시 30분경 최종 1차 양성 판정이 내려졌다.

이에 정부는 20일 오전 9시부터 21일 오전 9시까지 24시간 동안 고양시를 비롯해 인접 지역인 파주·양주·김포 및 서울 지역에 긴급 일시 이동중지 명령을 발령했다.
이번 명령은 소·돼지·염소 등 우제류 사육 농장과 관련 축산 차량 및 시설 전반에 적용된다.
고양시는 20일 경기도로부터 살처분 명령을 통지받은 즉시 해당 농가에서 사육 중인 한우 133마리에 대한 살처분 작업에 착수했다.
농림축산검역본부는 해당 농가를 중심으로 정밀 역학조사를 벌여 정확한 감염 경로를 파악할 계획이다.

시는 확산 방지를 위해 발생 농가 인근에 긴급 이동통제소를 설치하고, 소독 차량 7대를 동원해 발생지 반경 3km 이내 지역을 집중 소독하고 있다.
또한 공수의사 6명을 투입해 관내 우제류 농가를 대상으로 긴급 백신 접종과 임상 예찰을 실시하는 한편, 농장 진출입로에 생석회를 도포하는 등 차단 방역에 총력을 기울이고 있다.
이동환 고양특례시장은 20일 직접 방역 현장을 방문해 상황을 점검하고 신속한 대응을 주문했다.
