【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경상북도 소방본부가 고층건축물 화재 예방과 대응 역량 강화를 위해 도내 고층건축물 40개소를 대상으로 긴급 화재 안전대책을 추진했다.

이번 대책은 지난해 12월 3일부터 올해 2월 28일까지 3개월간 진행됐으며, 현장점검과 화재 안전조사, 특별훈련을 병행하는 방식으로 실시됐다.
소방본부는 우선 소방관서장이 직접 현장점검에 나서 가연성 외장재 사용 여부와 공사 중인 고층건축물 5개소를 집중 확인했다. 또 피난 동선 확보 상태와 소방시설 정상 작동 여부를 점검하고 공사 현장에는 사전 안전컨설팅을 실시해 화재 위험요인을 선제적으로 제거하도록 했다.
이와 함께 지자체 건축부서와 건축 분야 전문가가 참여한 합동 화재 안전조사를 실시해 소방시설 폐쇄·차단 등 불법행위를 중점적으로 확인했다. 작업장 인근 가연물 방치 여부와 주요 소방시설 유지관리 실태도 집중 점검했다.
점검 결과 40개소 가운데 33개소는 양호, 7개소는 불량으로 확인됐다. 불량 사항에 대해서는 기관 통보와 시정명령 조치를 했으며, 화재 및 인명피해 위험이 높은 대상에 대해서는 별도의 광역 화재 안전조사를 추가로 추진했다.
또한 고층건축물 화재 대응 능력 강화를 위해 특별훈련도 실시했다. 내부 구조와 출입 동선을 사전에 분석해 최단 접근 거점을 확보하고, 특수차량 배치 계획을 점검하는 도상훈련과 관계인 합동 소방훈련을 병행해 실전 대응 능력을 높였다.
박성열 경북소방본부장은 “고층건축물은 구조적 특성상 화재 발생 시 연기 확산이 빠르고 대피가 어려워 대형 인명피해로 이어질 위험이 크다”며 “철저한 점검과 현장 조사, 실전 같은 훈련을 통해 사고를 사전에 차단하고 시민 안전 확보에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
