[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 거제시가 지역 내 영화·드라마 촬영 유치를 확대하고 지역 경제 활성화를 도모하기 위해 ‘2026년 거제 로케이션 인센티브 지원사업’을 추진한다.
이번 사업은 경남도와 함께하는 협력사업으로 올 해 거제시가 첫 도입 했다.
거제시는 지난해 12월 31일 (재)경남문화예술진흥원과 위탁 협약을 체결하고, 2026년부터 본격적인 사업 시행에 들어간다.
거제시는 2019년부터 경남 로케이션 인센티브사업을 운영해 온 진흥원의 전문성과 축적된 노하우를 바탕으로, 촬영하기 좋은 도시로서 거제 중심의 사업을 선도적으로 추진하여 매력적인 촬영지로 자리매김할 전망이다.
지원 대상은 거제에서 2회차 이상 촬영을 진행하는 국내외 영화 및 드라마 제작사로, 거제 지역 내에서 실제 사용한 제작비의 일부를 최대 2천만 원까지 지원한다.
지원 항목은 숙박비, 식비, 유류비, 장소 임차료 등 촬영 과정에서 발생하는 거제 지역 내 지출 비용으로, 제작사의 제작비 부담을 줄이는 동시에 지역 상권 활성화와 관광 홍보 효과를 함께 기대할 수 있다.

Geoje City is launching the “2026 Geoje Location Incentive Support Project” to expand the attraction of film and drama productions to the region and to revitalize the local economy.
This project is a collaborative initiative with Gyeongnam Province, marking Geoje City’s first introduction of the program this year.
Geoje City signed a consignment agreement with the Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Foundation on December 31 of last year and will begin full-scale implementation of the project starting in 2026.
Based on the expertise and accumulated know-how of the Foundation, which has operated the Gyeongnam Location Incentive Project since 2019, Geoje City is expected to establish itself as an attractive filming destination by proactively leading projects centered on Geoje as a city ideal for filming.
Eligible applicants are domestic and international film and drama production companies conducting at least two filming sessions in Geoje. The program provides up to 20 million won in support for a portion of actual production costs incurred within the Geoje region. The supported items cover expenses incurred within the Geoje region during filming, such as accommodation, meals, fuel, and location rental fees. This initiative is expected to reduce the production company's financial burden while simultaneously revitalizing local businesses and promoting tourism.
