[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시가 서부산스마트밸리의 경쟁력 강화를 위한 현장 중심 소통에 나섰다.
박형준 부산시장은 3일 사하구 부산씨푸드플랫폼에서 제6차 기업 혁신성장 릴레이 간담회를 열고 산업단지 고도화와 기업 지원 방안을 논의했다.
이번 간담회에는 시 관계자와 서부산스마트밸리 입주기업 대표들이 참석해 현장의 애로사항과 개선 과제를 공유했다.
산단 환경 개선과 성장 기반 확충
이날 간담회에서는 산업단지의 노후 환경 개선과 기반시설 확충 방안이 주요 의제로 다뤄졌다. 교통과 주차 여건 개선, 인력 수급 문제 해소, 현장 중심 교육 지원 등 기업 운영에 직결되는 과제들이 집중적으로 논의됐다. 시는 기업 활동의 불편을 줄이고 생산성을 높이기 위한 실질적 지원에 행정 역량을 집중할 계획이다.
현장 의견 반영한 맞춤형 정책 강화
부산시는 기업 현장의 목소리를 정책에 반영하는 맞춤형 지원 체계를 강화하고 있다. 앞선 간담회를 통해 접수된 건의사항을 바탕으로 사이버보안 지원, 중소기업 금융 지원 확대, 수출기업 지원 등 다양한 정책이 이미 추진되고 있다. 시는 앞으로도 현장 의견 수렴과 정책 반영의 선순환 구조를 정착시킨다는 방침이다.
46년 만의 산업단지 구조 개편 추진
시는 전국 최초로 산업단지 유치업종 체계를 전면 재설계하는 구조 개편에 나선다. 변화하는 산업 환경에 대응하기 위해 업종과 기능을 재정비하고, 5년 주기로 재검토하는 체계를 도입할 계획이다. 이를 통해 기업 투자 환경을 개선하고 산업단지 경쟁력을 한층 끌어올린다는 구상이다.

문화와 청년이 결합된 미래형 산단 조성
부산시는 2026년 문화선도산단 공모에 참여해 산업단지를 문화와 청년이 어우러진 복합 공간으로 탈바꿈시킬 계획이다. 청년 친화형 공간 조성, 노후공장 리뉴얼, 문화 프로그램 확대 등 다양한 사업을 통해 산업과 문화가 공존하는 새로운 모델을 제시한다는 목표다.
글로벌 리스크 대응과 지역경제 활성화
중동 정세 불안 등 글로벌 변수에 대응하기 위한 지원책도 병행된다. 시는 특별자금 공급과 수출기업 지원을 확대하고, 지역특화 일자리 사업을 통해 고용 안정과 산업 경쟁력 강화에 나선다. 아울러 지역 생산품 구매 확대 정책을 통해 지역경제 선순환 구조 구축도 추진한다.
박형준 시장은 서부산스마트밸리가 산업과 환경, 사람이 조화를 이루는 첨단 스마트 산업단지의 모범 사례로 거듭날 것이라며 부산 제조 산업의 판도를 바꿀 전환점이 되도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다고 밝혔다.

The Busan Metropolitan Government has stepped up efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of the West Busan Smart Valley through on-site communication with businesses. Mayor 박형준 on April 3 hosted the sixth Innovation Growth Relay Meeting at the Busan Seafood Platform in Saha District, where city officials and company representatives discussed key challenges and development strategies for the industrial complex.
Improving industrial environment and infrastructure
Participants focused on upgrading aging industrial facilities and expanding core infrastructure. Key issues included improving transportation and parking conditions, addressing labor shortages, and strengthening field-oriented training programs. The city plans to prioritize practical support measures that directly enhance business operations and productivity.
Strengthening tailored, field-driven policies
Busan is reinforcing a customized support system that reflects feedback from businesses on the ground. Suggestions from previous meetings have already led to policy actions such as cybersecurity support, expanded financial assistance for small and medium-sized enterprises, and export support programs. The city aims to establish a continuous cycle of feedback and policy implementation.
First full-scale industrial restructuring in 46 years
The city is launching a comprehensive restructuring of permitted industries within industrial complexes, the first of its kind in 46 years nationwide. The initiative includes reorganizing industrial functions and introducing a five-year review system to adapt to changing economic conditions. This is expected to improve the investment environment and enhance overall competitiveness.
Building a culture-driven, youth-friendly industrial complex
Busan also plans to apply for the 2026 Culture-Led Industrial Complex initiative, aiming to transform the area into a space where industry, culture, and youth coexist. Projects will include youth-oriented spaces, renovation of old factories, and expanded cultural programs, creating a new model that integrates industrial and cultural development.
Responding to global risks and boosting the local economy
In response to global uncertainties such as tensions in the Middle East, the city is expanding financial and logistical support for exporters. It is also promoting job stability through specialized employment programs and encouraging the use of locally produced goods to strengthen the regional economic cycle.
Mayor Park stated that the West Busan Smart Valley will become a leading example of a smart industrial complex where industry, environment, and people coexist, adding that the city will make every effort to turn it into a game changer for Busan’s manufacturing sector.
