울진군(군수 전찬걸)은 매화면 신흥2리에서 기성면 삼산2리를 연결하는 군도17호선(매화면 기양1리∼기성면 사동1리) 개설공사의 조기 준공을 위해 박차를 가하고 있다고 20일 밝혔다.

울진군에 따르면 군도17호선(신흥∼삼산) 개설공사는 총연장 1.7km(2차선), 총사업비 62억2500만원(국비 30억 군비 32억2500만원)이 투자되는 사업으로 2018년도 국토교통부 지역개발사업에 선정되어 2022년 까지 국비30억원을 지원받아 시행된다.
2018년 12월에 기본 및 실시설계를 완료하였으며 1차 구간(0.8km, 22억7900만원)은 2020년 12월에 착공하여 2022년 6월에 준공예정으로 향후 2023년 준공예정인 2차 구간(0.9km, 39억4600만원) 사업이 완료되면 군도17호선(매화면 기양1리∼기성면 사동1리) 전 구간이 개통된다.
전찬걸 군수는“미 개설구간 도로가 모두 개통되면 낙후된 산간마을의 교통인프라 구축 및 주변 마을간 접근성 향상과 농산물 수송에 편의를 제공할 수 있을 것”이라며“이번 도로개설을 통해 현종산 풍력단지와 해양 생태환경을 연계한 친환경 관광산업 육성에 큰 기여를 할 것으로 기대된다”고 밝혔다.
