대구한의대학교(총장 변창훈) 기린봉사단이 대구가톨릭대학교와 함께 사랑의 연탄배달 봉사활동을 실시했다.
지난 8일 기린봉사단은 대구가톨릭대학교와 경산시재가노인통합지원센터의 협력으로 지역사회 내 어려운 이웃들이 따뜻한 겨울을 나눌 수 있도록 돕는 봉사활동을 진행했다.

이번 행사에는 양교 총장을 포함한 교직원 및 학생봉사자 40여명이 참여하여 경산 지역에 거주하는 저소득층 독거노인에게 지원된 총 4,000장의 연탄 중 750장의 연탄을 직접 배달하는 시간을 가졌다.
봉사활동에 참여한 한봄(한방스포츠의학과 2학년) 씨는 “학우들과 함께 직접 연탄을 나르면서 어르신께 따뜻한 겨울을 선물해드릴 수 있어 매우 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 어려운 이웃을 돌아보고 도움을 줄 수 있는 봉사활동에 적극 참여 하겠다”라고 말했다.
우동기 대구가톨릭대 총장은 “추운 겨울을 앞두고 난방에 어려움을 겪는 어르신들께 조금이나마 도움이 되었으면 한다. 이번 나눔이 학생들에게 단순한 연탄 배달 행사에 그치지 않고 그에 대한 가치와 의미를 되새기길 바라며, 더 나아가 어려운 이웃과 더불어 살아가는 삶의 태도를 기를 수 있길 기대한다”고 말했다.
변창훈 대구한의대학교 총장은 “양 대학이 함께한 봉사활동이라 더욱 의미가 깊다”며 “앞으로도 우리대학은 이웃을 생각하는 나눔 정신과 건강한 인재 양성을 위해 다양한 봉사 프로그램을 지원 하겠다”고 말했다.
