[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시 민선8기 1호 공약사업인 ‘원전산업 조기정상화’를 위한 첫 시그널이 켜졌다.
시는 13일 오후 KDB 산업은행과의 ‘원전산업 생태계 경쟁력 강화’ 업무협약을 체결했다.
이날 행사에는 강석훈 산업은행 회장, 정병철 중소중견부분 부행장, 박영상 지역성장지원실장, 관내 원전협력사 대표 등 20여명이 참석했다.
이날 협약은 ▲ 원전산업 관련기업 정책금융 지원프로그램 마련을 위한 상품 및 서비스의 개발과 지원 ▲ 시 추천 기업에 대한 최혜의 조건을 적용한 금융·비금융 서비스, 인허가 및 행정·정책적 지원 ▲ 원전산업 및 기업육성을 위한 대내외 협력방안 수립 및 원전산업 관련 리서치 수행 ▲ 「원전수출전략추진단」 참여를 통한 원전수출 지원전략 결정 및 수행 ▲ 창원지역 원전산업 기업 육성을 위한 공동마케팅, 홍보 실시 ▲ 은행 전문직원 파견을 통한 상시적 업무협력 채널 구축 및 선제적 금융자문 제공 등 내용으로 협약했다.
협약에 따라 산업은행은 8월부터 창원시에 원전금융정책관을 파견해 원전기업 이차보전 특별지원, 원전기업대상 자금조달 등에 대한 산업은행 금융 컨설팅, 원전 기업 투자금 확보로 미래에너지 산업진출 및 금융환경을 조성하기 위한 에너지 산업육성 펀드 조성 등 창원 원전산업 조기정상화를 위해 적극 협조한다.

시는 원전산업 육성을 위한 원자력산업 TF팀을 이번달 말부터 구성햐 기업의 요구사항에 발빠르게 대응할 계획이다.
산업은행과 협업해 원전산업 밸류체인 분석 및 원전기업 정책 금융지원 프로그램 사업 추진 등을 위해 국비 확보에 총력을 기울일 예정이다.
홍남표 창원특례시장은 “신한울 3,4호기 조기재개 확정으로 관내 원전기업이 숨통이 트였지만, 당장 일감의 파급효과를 기업이 체감하기까지 그동안 원전기업이 버틸 수 있는 특단의 대책이 필요하다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “이번 산업은행과 공동으로 하는 사업은 원전업계 금융지원 및 맞춤형 금융컨설팅 추진으로 원전기업 명맥유지와 조기정상화 지원 성공사례로 자리매김할 것이다”며 “원전산업 정상화를 통해 창원경제를 회복하겠다”고 강조했다.
