[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 먹거리통합지원센터 건립사업에 속도를 내고 있다.
시는 20일 먹거리통합지원센터 건립 기본 및 실시설계 용역 보고회를 개최했다.
먹거리통합지원센터 건립사업은 조규일 시장의 핵심 공약사업으로, 지역에서 생산되는 안전하고 우수한 농산물을 지역 내 학교, 공공기관 등에 공급해 소비하도록 함으로써 안심 먹거리 공급과 지역농가 소득증진을 동시에 도모하기 위한 것이다.
총사업비 97억 원을 투입해 문산읍 두산리 일원에 부지면적 9,926.8㎡, 연면적 3,000㎡ 규모로 먹거리통합지원센터 1동과 농산물가공시설 1동을 건립할 예정이다.
먹거리통합지원센터는 지역 내 초·중·고, 혁신도시 공공기관, 복지시설 공공급식 등에 지역농산물을 공급하는 컨트롤타워 역할을 하게 되며, 농산물가공시설은 소규모 가공 실습, 식생활 교육·체험 등 먹거리 소통공간의 기능을 가진 복합공간으로 조성된다.

시는 이날 용역 보고회를 마치고 의견을 취합해 설계내용을 수정·보완한 후 기본 및 실시설계 용역을 완료할 예정이다.
설계 용역이 완료되는 대로 바로 착공에 돌입할 수 있도록 건축 인허가 등 사전 행정절차 이행에 박차를 가하고 있다.
조규일 시장은 “진주시 먹거리 계획의 목적에 맞는 우수하고 실용적인 건축물이 될 수 있도록 완성도 높게 설계가 될 수 있도록 노력해 달라”고 당부하며 “먹거리통합지원센터 건립으로 지속가능한 공공먹거리 공급체계를 마련해 농업인들의 소득증대는 물론 시민들의 건강한 먹거리 보장에도 기여할 것”이라고 말했다.
