[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 최근 기업 경영의 화두인 환경·사회·투명 경영(ESG)을 위한 인식 제고와 지역기업 ESG 대응 지원을 위한 포럼이 창원대학교에서 열렸다.
창원특례시는 환경수도창원포럼(대표 유진상)과 공동으로 '2022년 제29회 환경수도창원포럼'를 개최했다고 3일 밝혔다.
환경수도창원포럼은 매년 새로운 주제, 당면하고 있는 환경현안에 대해 각 분야 전문가 토론을 통해 해결방안을 모색하는 역할을 하고 있으며, 2004년부터 운영되고 있다.
올해 포럼은 '탄소중립 시대, 지속가능한 ESG 협력 방안'을 주제로 마련됐다. 기업 관계자, 지역전문가, 학생 등 100여명이 참석했다.
특히 이번 행사는 창원대학교에서 개최하는 “Net-Zero Week” 행사와 연계 추진됐으며, 유진상 환경수도창원포럼 대표의 개회사를 시작으로 3개의 주제발표와 1개의 사례발표에 이어 종합토론으로 진행됐다.
이번 포럼에서 △ 창원산업진흥원 길수민 팀장의 '창원시 2050 탄소중립 계획', △ 창원상공회의소 김기환 과장이 ‘창원기업 ESG 경영인식 및 참여요인’, △ IBK기업은행 김태환 수석컨설턴트가 ‘중소기업을 위한 ESG 지원제도 안내’라는 3가지 주제발표와 두산에너빌리티 김강우 과장이 ‘창원시 기업의 ESG 경영’ 사례발표가 진행됐다.
이어 환경수도창원포럼의 대표인 유진상 창원대학교 교수의 주재로 포럼위원, 지역전문가, 창원시 관계 공무원 등이 패널로 참석한 토론회에서 ‘지역맞춤형 지속가능한 ESG 협력 방안’ 실현을 위한 열띤 토론이 펼쳐졌다.
최재안 환경도시국장은 “창원은 산업도시로서 기업 중심의 탄소중립 실현과 ESG 경영의 실효성을 제고하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “앞으로 창원기업의 ESG 대응력 강화를 위해 맞춤형 녹색경영을 지원하여 국내외 정책동향에 대응하는 데 어려움이 없도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
