[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시는 22일 오전 제3회의실에서 창원시 버스개선위원회 위원, 경관위원회 위원, 운수업체 대표 등으로 구성된 시내버스 디자인 개선용역 최종보고회를 개최했다.
현재 운행 중인 시내버스 디자인은 통합창원시 출범에 따라 도입되어 지금까지 유지돼 오고 있어 창원특례시 출범 및 S-BRT 구축에 따라 미래 발전적이고 독창적인 도시 이미지 구축을 위한 새로운 디자인 개발이 요구되었다.
이번 새로 도입하는 새로운 시내버스 디자인은 순수하고 깨끗한 물의 파장과 물방울을 그래픽 화하여 친환경 도시 창원시의 이미지를 버스 외부에 표현하였고, 보고회를 통해 최종적으로 보완사항이 없는지 검토하고자 마련됐다.
시내버스 디자인은 내년 상반기 도입되는 신차부터 점진적으로 적용되며 S-BRT 승강장은 원이대로 9.3km 구간(도계광장 ~ 가음정사거리)에 도입될 계획이다.
강신오 신교통추진단장은 “새롭게 선보일 시내버스 및 승강장 디자인이 노선 전면개편, S-BRT 구축과 함께 대중교통 이용의 편의성과 시민 만족도를 제고하고 코로나로 인해 침체된 대중교통 이용에 활력을 불어넣을 수 있는 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
