가을은 텅빈 가슴에 가을걷이로 다가 왔네
알곡을 수확하게 됐네
1년 내내 먹을 식량을 주었네
한여름 땀 흘림의 보상을 주었네
기적 같은 일이 일어났네.
가을바람에 우수수 떨어진 잎들은 농부에게 필요한 퇴비를 줄 것이고
나무 가지들을 자른 뒤 잘 마르면 방구들을 따뜻하게 할 수 있나니
이보다 좋은 절기가 어디에 있겠나.
가을 햅쌀을 물에 불려 시루에 익힌 다음 떡방아를 찧을 수도 있으니
가을, 도시로 떠나간 옛 이웃이라도 불러 그들과 더불어 행복가라도 불러야할 거네.
들판 떠났던 철새들도 우루루 몰려와 들판에 떨어진 먹이로 배 불리네
배고파 굶주리던 옛 생각들을 지워내며
포근포근 소리 내며 눈길 걸을 생각하니 이 보다 즐거운 가을날이 또 어디 있으랴.
가을은 숨겨둔 첫 사랑처럼 다가와
하루하루 설렘 속에 살게 하네.
황량한 찬바람 속에서도
마음 통한 이와 소곤거리며
내일 이후를 이야기할 수 있으니 이 또한 좋고도 좋네.
