[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 홍남표 창원특례시장을 비롯해 이동환 고양특례시장, 이재준 수원특례시장, 이상일 용인특례시장이 참석한 특례시 권한 확보 방안을 논의하기 위해, 29일 진해해양공원 해양솔라파크 대회의장에서 대한민국 특례시 시장협의회의 2022년 제3차 회의가 열렸다.

홍남표 창원특례시장은 “특별법 제정을 위해 기초연구와 법률안 마련이 선행돼야 하지만, 무엇보다 중요한 것은 시민과 정치권의 관심과 지원”이라며 “향후 정책토론회를 통해 450만 특례시민은 물론, 국회·정부의 공감대를 이끌어내고 특례시의 법적 안정성과 실효성을 담보할 수 있는 특별법을 만들겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
한편, 시는 회의 종료 후 창원 랜드마크인 솔라타워 전망대에서 진해항 및 신항과 관련한 항만 특례에 대한 브리핑을 진행하고, 특례시 중 유일한 항만도시로 지난 4월, 지방분권법 개정으로 진해항 개발·관리 권한을 확보했으며 내년 4월 시행을 앞두고 있다.
