브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 농협중앙회는 29일 서울 중구 본관에서 ‘2022 지역농업발전 선도인像’ 시상식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
농협은 지역 농업 발전과 농업인의 문화·복지 등 삶의 질 향상을 위해 적극적인 농정을 펼친 지방자치단체장의 공로를 널리 알리고자 2003년부터 매년 ‘지역농업발전 선도인像’을 시상해 왔다.
올해에는 최대호 안양시장, 최명서 영월군수, 조길형 충주시장, 가세로 태안군수, 권익현 부안군수, 김산 무안군수, 조현일 경산시장, 박일호 밀양시장 등 8인이 수상의 영예를 안았다. 농협은 지난 7월부터 각 지역에서 추천받은 지자체장의 농업정책 추진현황을 반영하고, 조합장을 포함한 농업인들의 의견수렴 절차를 거쳐 수상자를 확정했다.
이성희 농협중앙회장은 시상식에 참석한 지방자치단체장들과 함께 농협중앙회 로비에 마련된 지자체 농특산물 홍보관을 순람하고, 수상자 공적과 관련한 영상을 시청했으며, 농업·농촌 발전을 위한 당면현안에 대해서도 심도 있는 대화를 나눴다.
이성희 회장은 “농업경쟁력 강화와 농업인의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 아낌없이 지원해 주시는 시장·군수님의 노고에 대해 전국 농업인을 대신하여 감사드린다”며 “농협은 지자체와의 적극적인 협력을 통해 국민경제의 균형 있는 발전과 지속가능한 농업·농촌을 이루어갈 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
