‘고양시 강원도민회’가 지난 9일 일산동구 풍동소재 YMCA고양국제청소년문화센터에서 개최했다.
이날 행사에는이동환 고양시장, 김영식 고양시의회 의장, 이용우-한준호-심상정 국회의원, 경기도-고양시의원을 비롯하여 강원도민회 중앙회 임원진 및 강원도청 축하 사절단과 고양시 강원도민회원 등 400여명이 참석한 가운데 성황리에 진행되었다.

한해를 보내면서 화합과 친목을 다지고자 ‘코로나19’ 여파로 3년만에 개최된 ‘고양시 강원도민회, 송년의 밤 행사’에는 각계각층의 축하인사와 회원들의 높은 참여와 열정이 어우러져 현장 분위기는 매우 뜨거웠다.
송년의 밤 행사는 도민회 회원들로 구성된 기타 동호회 및 전통국악 공연무대를 시작으로 강원도 노래제창, 지난 한해동안 지역사회 봉사활동과 도민회 발전을 위해 수고해준 회원들에게 고양시장 및 국회의원 등의 표창장과 이성규 도민회장 감사패 수여, 푸짐한 기념품과 경품,행사가 있었다.

이어서 가수공연과 회원들의 장기자랑이 펼쳐졌으며 특히 도민회의 창립배경과 미래 비젼, 고향의 옛추억을 회상하는 내용이 담긴 동영상을 시청하면서 눈시울을 붉히는 회원들의 모습과 도민회 발전을 응원하는 박수갈채가 이어지기도 했다.
올해 창립4주년을 맞이한 ‘고양시 강원도민회’는 강원인으로서 자부심을 간직하면서 평소 친목활동은 물론 고양시 지역 연탄배달 등 사회봉사활동과 식목행사, 강원도지역 전통시장 방문과 특산물 팔아주기, 강원도청 김장담그기 참여, 동해안 산불피해성금 1,407만원기부 등 사회공헌활동을 활발히하며 고양특례시 및 강원도 지역사회 발전에 많은 기여를 하고 있다.
