경남도와 경상공회의소협의회, 경남신문이 공동으로 주최한 이번 신년인사회는 구자천 경남상공회의소협의회장, 남길우 경남신문 회장, 김진부 도의회의장 등 도내 주요 정·관계, 언론계, 경제계, 시민단체 등 500여 명이 참석했다.
참석자들은 신년인사회 개회에 앞서 릴레이 인사를 통해 새해 덕담을 주고받은 뒤, 도정비전인 ‘활기찬 경남, 행복한 도민’을 외치며 힘찬 출발을 다짐했다.

박완수 도지사의 신년사를 시작으로 본격적으로 진행된 신년인사회는 김진부 도의회 의장과 박종훈 교육감의 축사, 박일호 경남 시장·군수협의회장의 새해덕담, 건배제의 순으로 진행됐다.
