의왕시, 성인문해학교 중학과정 신입생 모집

의왕시(시장 김성제)가 올해 처음으로 중학교 정규 교육 기회를 놓친 초등학력 소지자를 대상으로 ‘성인문해학교, 중학과정(학력인정 준비과정)’ 신입생을 모집한다.

이번 교육은 중학교 학력 인정 준비과정(중학 1~2단계)이다.

교육생은 1월 9일부터 2월 3일까지 초등학력을 소지한 만 18세 이상 성인을 대상으로 모집한다. 중학 학력 이상 소지자는 신청이 불가하다. 교육기간은 2023년 3월부터 2024년 2월까지 1년간이며, 주 3회 운영된다.

의왕시는 올해 운영 상황을 토대로 2024년에 경기도교육청에 중학 학력 인정기관으로 지정 신청할 예정이다. 중학교 학력을 인정받기 위해서는 3단계를 통과해야 하므로 이 경우 교육 기간은 1~2년 연장된다.

의왕시 관계자는 “이번 사업을 관내 유일의 초등학력 인정시설인 의왕시민학교와 연계하여 초등학력을 인정받은 학습자들이 본 과정에 참여할 수 있는 방안을 모색할 계획”이라며, “정규 교육 기회를 놓친 시민에게 학력 취득 기회를 제공하는 이번 교육을 통해 각각의 사정으로 놓친 꿈을 다시금 펼쳐 자아실현과 사회활동 참여의 계기가 될 수 있기를 기대한다”고 전했다.
