[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 조규일 진주시장은 지난달 28일 산업통상자원부 박종원 지역경제정책관을 만나 진주시에서 추진하는 AAM 산업생태계 조성사업 추진을 건의했다.
이날 면담은 진주시가 추진하는 미래항공기체(AAV) 실증센터 건립에 대한 후속사업으로 계획하고 있는 AAV 기체 인증을 위한 테스트베드 및 기체 인증센터 구축사업에 대해 설명하기 위해 마련됐다.
조규일 시장은 이날 시가 한국형 AAM 산업생태계 조성을 위해 추진하고 있는 다양한 사업에 대해 상세히 설명하고, AAV 실증센터와 연계해 AAV 기체 제작에 필요한 인증센터 유치 필요성을 강조했다.
진주시는 이미 AAV 실증센터 건립사업을 추진해 운용체계 전반에 대한 검증이 가능한 실증센터를 건립해 AAV 시장을 선점함으로써 진주를 포함한 경남을 국내 유일의 AAM 산업생태계로 조성할 계획이다.
또 시는 관련 공공기관을 적극적으로 유치해 기체 생산, 실증시험, 비행시험, 기체 인증까지의 일련의 과정이 한 곳에서 이루어질 수 있도록 기업·기관 등더 집약한다는 방침이다.
진주시 관계자는 “AAV 기체 생산기업을 유치하고 관련 부품산업을 육성해 양질의 일자리를 창출하겠다”며“진주를 포함한 경남의 항공산업 발전과 지역경제 발전에도 큰 도움이 될 것으로 전망한다”고 말했다.
