최 회장은 지난 2월 28일부터 3월 5일까지 특사 자격으로 3개국 총리 등 정부 관계자를 만나 2030부산세계박람회에 대한 지지를 호소하는 한편, SK그룹 회장으로서 각국의 에너지 관련 기업들과 연쇄 회동을 갖는 등 경제협력 확대의 첨병 역할까지 수행했다.
