국내 창작 뮤지컬 지원 프로그램인 ‘제6회 상상 스테이지 챌린지’에서 '어나더 패밀리'가 최종작으로 선정됐다.
‘상상 스테이지 챌린지’는 KT&G가 국내 유수의 창작 뮤지컬의 발굴과 지원을 위해 올해로 6회째 진행된 문화공헌 프로그램이다.
공모에는 총 38개의 작품이 접수됐으며, 1차 서류심사와 2차 인터뷰 심사를 거쳐 ‘어나더 패밀리’가 최종 선정됐다.
‘어나더 패밀리’는 게임 속 캐릭터인 메리네 가족이 우울증에 걸린 게임의 플레이어를 치유하는 내용이다. 이를 통해 가상 세계와 현실이 역전되는 아이러니를 생각해보게 되는 작품이다.
이번 선정으로 ‘어나더 패밀리’는 KT&G의 지원을 통해 공연 제작비 1,000만원과 공연장 대관 및 무대 장비 등 총 6,000만원 상당의 혜택을 제공받게 된다.
‘어나더 패밀리’ 오는 9월부터 KT&G 상상마당 대치아트홀에서 대중들에게 선보여질 예정이다.
앞서 KT&G 상상마당은 지난 2017년부터 ‘상상 스테이지 챌린지’를 통해 창작극을 지원해 왔으며, 지금까지 뮤지컬 ‘더 픽션’, ‘로빈’, ‘메리셸리’, ‘디어 마이 라이카’,연극 ‘왕복서간’의 공연을 성황리에 마친 바 있다.
KT&G 관계자는 “‘상상 스테이지 챌린지’는 국내 문화예술계의 발전을 위해 우수한 창작 뮤지컬을 발굴하고 지원하는 사업”이라며, “참신한 작품들이 보다 많은 공연 기회를 갖고, 관객들과 만나볼 수 있도록 앞으로도 지원을 아끼지 않겠다.”고 밝혔다.
