[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 월아산 숲속의 진주 진입부를 장식할 ‘월아산 작가정원’을 이달 본격 착공한다.
월아산 작가정원은 ‘달빛이 비치는 신선의 정원’이란 뜻을 담아 천혜의 자연환경과 역사문화 자원을 바탕으로 주변 자연환경과의 조화와 예술성·작품성을 갖춘 3개 구역으로 조성된다.
시는 지난해 월아산 숲속의 진주 내 약 6600㎡의 부지에 모두 3개의 작가정원을 조성키로 하고, 작품을 공모한 후 심사와 발표심사를 거쳐 최종 선정했다.
월아산 작가정원 1구역의 주제는 ‘청림월연’으로 자연의 지세와 흐름에 순응하는 한국정원 고유의 조성방식을 따르면서 감추었다 드러내는 식으로 정원 공간이 자연스럽게 전개되는 구역이다.
월아산 작가정원 2구역의 주제는 ‘LAYER OF GREEN(자연의 층, 우리의 기록)’이며, 한국 숲속의 은은한 아름다움을 표현하면서 국내 자생수종을 최대한 활용해 공간의 가치를 더한 정원이다.
마지막 3구역의 주제는 ‘월아회원’으로 ‘달과 나’를 뜻하는 월아(月我)와 월아산의 월아(月牙)라는 중의적 의미를 담고 있고 있으며, 월량선경의 의미도 함축하고 있다.
월아산 작가정원은 오는 6월 준공, 오는 7월에 개최되는 ‘월아산 정원박람회’와 연계 추진해, 월아산 숲속의 진주 속 새로운 복합문화공간이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
