[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 5일부터 오는 8일까지 개최되는 ‘제22회 진주논개제’ 개막을 앞두고 4일 진주성 일원에서 민관 합동 안전점검을 실시했다.
이날 합동 안전점검에는 신종우 진주시 부시장과 경찰, 소방, 전기 등 각 분야 전문가, 축제 관계자가 참석해 축제 관람객들을 위한 안전시설물 등을 세심하게 점검했다.
특히 합동 안전점검반은 의암바위 및 특설 수상무대에서 펼쳐지는 실경역사뮤지컬 ‘의기논개’의 안전한 공연을 위해 공연자와 관람객의 안전 확보 및 수상구조요원, 구조장비 배치를 집중 점검했다.
진주논개제는 임진왜란 당시 진주성에서 순국한 논개를 비롯한 7만 민·관·군의 충절과 진주정신을 축제로 승화·발전시킨 진주시의 대표 봄 축제다.
신종우 진주부시장은 “마지막 순간까지 축제장 시설물과 공연장에 대한 안전을 확보해 성공적인 축제가 되길 바란다”고 당부했다.
