경기도가 민선 8기 대표 정책인 ‘장애인 기회소득’을 오는 7월 25일부터 순차 지급한다.
경기도는 7월 21일 장애인 기회소득 신청자 9,817명 중 2,000 명을 최종 선정해 경기도 누리집(www.gg.go.kr)과 문자 등을 통해 개별 안내했다.
경기도는 대상자 2,000 명에게 스마트워치를 제공하고 스스로 운동 목표를 세울 수 있도록 도울 계획이다. 장애인은 스마트워치를 착용하고 1주 최소 2회 이상, 1시간 이상 활동하고 움직이면서 스스로 건강을 챙겨야 한다.
7월 25일부터 선정자들이 운동 목표 등을 수립하면 가치 활동을 돕기 위한 1차분 기회소득을 순차적으로 현금 지원한다. 지급 방식은 월 5만 원씩 6개월간 총 30만 원이다.
경기도는 장애인의 활동으로 건강이 좋아진다거나 더 이상 건강이 나빠지지 않아 사회적 비용(의료비, 돌봄비용)이 감소하는 것을 사회적 가치로 보고 있다.
앞서 경기도는 7월 5일부터 14일까지 경기도에 거주하는 장애인복지법상 ‘정도가 심한 장애인’ 13~64세를 대상으로 ‘장애인 기회소득’ 공모를 실시했다.
경기도는 장애인 기회소득을 신청한 9,817명을 대상으로 증빙서류 적합성 등 검토를 마치고 2,000 명을 최종 선정했다. 경기도는 31개 시군과 장애 유형별로 골고루 지원받을 수 있도록 100명을 특별선정 하고, 일반선정으로 저소득층과 1인 가구를 우대하는 방법으로 전문 선정 프로그램을 사용해 1,900명을 선정했다.
김동연 경기도지사는 지난 19일 누리소통망(SNS)을 통해 “장애인의 기회 소득에 많은 분이 신청해 주셨고 신청자가 많아서 올해 기회가 돌아가지 않은 분들이 많으나, 사업 첫 해 심은 작은 씨앗을 잘 키워서 더 많은 기회를 드릴 수 있도록 하겠다”며, “자신만이 가지고 있는 특별한 가치에 대해 자부심을 가져주고 경기도가 든든한 발판이 되겠다”고 밝혔다.
