군포시가 웰다잉(Well-Dying) 문화조성 심의위원회를 구성하고 위촉식을 가졌다.
군포시는 지난 9월 20일 회의실에서 웰다잉에 대한 인식개선과 사회적 문화확 산을 위해 군포시 웰다잉 문화조성 심의위원회를 조직해 위촉식을 가졌다.
이날 군포시 웰다잉 문화조성 심의위원회 위원으로 위촉된 군포시 보건소장을 비롯해 이훈미 시의원, 호스피스전문가, 노인복지관계자 등 13명의 위원들은 첫 번째 회의를 열어 최수재 군포시늘푸른복지관장을 위원장으로 선출했다.
2018년 회생가능성이 없는 환자가 자기결정이나 가족의 동의로 연명치료를 받지 않을 수 있는 연명의료결정법 시행에 따라 의학적 소생가능성이 없는 임종환자의 자기 결정권을 존중해 편안한 마무리를 할 수 있는 군포시의 제도적 기반이 마련된 것.
군포시는 지난 3년간 1,793명이 사전연명치료의향서에 서명했다. 그러나 여전히 막연한 두려움으로 죽음을 기피하는 문화가 만연하고 사전연명치료의향서와 장기기증에 대한 관심이 부족한 상태다.
군포시 웰다잉 문화조성 심의위원회 위원들은 첫 회의에서 호스피스·연명의료에 관한 계획수립과 함게 노년기부터 청·장년까지 다양한 세대에서의 인식개선과 홍보방안을 논의했다.
하은호 군포시장은 “아무런 준비없이 당하는 죽음에서 맞이하는 죽음으로 한 사람이 스스로 자신의 삶을 마무리하는 문화가 조성되도록 해달라”고 당부했다.
