브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 게임물관리위원회는 오는 5일부터 개인 게임개발자, 중소 게임개발사 지원을 위한 등급분류 수수료 감면 혜택을 50%로 확대 적용한다고 4일 밝혔다.
수수료 감면 적용 대상은 상시 고용인 50인 미만, 총 매출액 50억원 이하의 중소 게임 개발사와 개인 게임개발자다.
단, 사행성 모사를 내용으로 하는 게임물과 게임제공업소용 경품 게임물은 감면 대상에서 제외된다. 5일부터 온라인 등급분류 신청 시 적용받을 수 있다.
개인 게임개발자는 게임위 홈페이지에 ‘개인회원’으로 가입할 경우 신청 단계에서 수수료의 50%가 자동으로 감면 적용된다.
중소 게임개발사의 경우 ‘중소기업 감면대상 신청’을 통해 상시 고용인수 확인서류와 매출액 확인서류 각 1부를 제출해 대상여부를 확인 받은 후 1년간 수수료를 감면받을 수 있다.
게임위는 2009년 등급분류 수수료 책정 시부터 중소 게임개발사에 대해 등급분류 수수료의 30%를 환급해주는 제도를 시행해 왔다.
중소 게임개발사의 경우 등급분류 결정 후 별도로 환급 신청을 하는 번거로움이 있었으나 2023년 8월부터 중소기업 감면대상 확인을 받을 경우, 등급분류 신청 단계에서 수수료가 자동 감면되도록 시스템을 개선해 편의를 제고했다.
