브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= LG유플러스가 현대차·기아 로보틱스랩과 자동차가 주차와 충전을 스스로 하고, 로봇이 내가 일하는 자리까지 택배를 가져다 주는 로봇 친화형 빌딩에 통신인프라 생태계를 구축한다.
LG유플러스는 현대자동차그룹과 함께 로봇 친화형 빌딩통신 인프라 생태계 구성을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 30일 밝혔다.
지난 25일 LG유플러스 용산 사옥에서 열린 업무 협약식에는 LG유플러스 기업 신사업그룹장 임장혁 전무, 현대차∙기아 로보틱스랩장 현동진 상무 등 양사 주요 관계자들이 참석했다.
양사는 이번 협약을 통해 △로봇 솔루션 공급 △로봇전용 통신 서비스 공급 △로봇 친화빌딩 통신 표준/인증 체계 공동 개발 등 로봇 친화형 빌딩을 위한 로보틱스 토탈 솔루션을 공동 개발한다는 방침이다.
LG유플러스는 근무 환경의 변화 및 로봇 기술의 발전과 함께 미래 성장 기업의 주요 거점을 중심으로 로봇 친화적 스마트 오피스에 대한 수요가 증가할 것으로 기대됨에 따라 모빌리티 부문에서 쌓아온 기술력을 기반으로 새로운 시장을 선점한다는 계획이다.
다양한 유형의 서비스 로봇에 맞춤화 된 통신 요금 및 상품 설계, 층간 이동시 끊김이 발생하지 않는 높은 수준의 안전성 확보, 신속한 원격 제어 환경을 구축하기 위한 초저지연 통신 등 우수한 통신 설비와 인프라를 보유한 LG유플러스는 이번 업무 협약을 계기로 신규 수요를 선점하고 관련 사업을 확대한다는 방침이다.
양사는 향후 로봇 확산에 대비한 로봇 친화 빌딩 통신 표준 및 인증 체계도 공동개발해 로봇 친화 빌딩 생태계 확장을 선도해 나갈 예정이다.
