윤석열 대통령이 11일(현지시각) 2박 3일 일정의 카자흐스탄 국빈 방문에 들어간 가운데 리튬·우라늄 등 핵심 광물 분야 공급망 협력 확대에 중점을 둔 정상외교에 나선다.
윤 대통령과 부인 김건희 여사는 이날 오후 5시 50분께 카자흐 아스타나 국제공항에 대통령 전용기 공군1호기 편으로 도착했다. 윤 대통령은 남색 정장에 하늘색 넥타이, 김 여사는 아이보리색 재킷·치마 정장 차림에 에코백을 들었다.

윤 대통령은 카자흐 내 고려인 동포·재외국민들과의 동포 간담회로 일정을 시작하는데 이어 카심 조마르트 토카예프 대통령 주재 친교 만찬에 참석한다.
이틀째인 12일 카자흐 대통령궁에서 토카예프 대통령과 정상회담을 갖는 가운데 한·카자흐 전략적 동반자 관계 강화 방안을 논의 후 양해각서(MOU) 서명식·공동언론발표·국빈 오찬 등을 이어간다.
윤 대통령은 국빈 공식 일정을 마친 후 토카예프 대통령과 함께 한·카자흐 비즈니스 포럼에 참석해 기조연설을 하고, 양국 공연단 문화공연을 함께 관람하면서 모든 일정을 마무리한다.
카자흐스탄은 중앙아시아 5개국 중 국토 면적·경제규모가 가장 큰 나라이자 최대 산유국으로 지난 2009년 한국과 전략적 동반자 관계를 수립했다.
