유한양행이 다문화 가정을 위해 책 608권을 기부했다.
유한양행(대표이사 조욱제)은 독서의 계절을 맞아 10월 11일 임직원을 대상으로 ‘도서 기증 캠페인’을 진행하여 모은 도서를 서울 동작구 가족센터에 기부했다고 10월 14일 밝혔다.
유한양행에 따르면 동작구 가족센터가 신축 이전하면서 1층에 서가를 조성한다는 소식을 듣고, 9월 한 달간 임직원을 대상으로 ‘도서 기증 캠페인’을 진행하여 총 608권의 도서를 모아 가족센터에 전달했다고 한다.
유한양행 직원들은 지역 주민들이 읽으면 좋을 자기계발서, 동화, 소설, 아동 전집 등 다양한 책을 기증했다. 기증된 도서들은 동작구 가족센터 서가를 통해 주민들이 이용하게 될 계획이다.
동작구 가족센터는 동작구에 거주하는 다문화·한부모·맞벌이·재혼 가족 등을 위해 교육, 상담, 아이 돌봄 등을 지원하여 가족 내 발생하는 문제 예방 및 해결에 도움을 주는 곳이다. 유한양행도 동작구 가족센터의 아이들을 위해 자체 봉사단을 꾸려 동화책 낭독 및 음원 도서 제작 등의 활동도 진행하고 있다.
유한양행 관계자는 “앞으로도 다문화 가정과 지역주민이 함께하는 사회, 다양한 문화가 어우러져 함께 성장할 수 있도록 많은 활동을 진행하겠다”고 밝혔다.

On October 14, the bank announced that it donated 608 books to a family center in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, collected through a book donation campaign held on October 11 for employees to mark the season of reading.
According to the bank, when it heard that the Dongjak-gu Family Center was building a library on the first floor of its new building, it held a book donation campaign for its employees throughout the month of September, collecting a total of 608 books and delivering them to the center.
The employees donated a variety of books, including self-improvement books, fairy tales, novels, and children's books, which they hoped local residents would enjoy reading. The donated books will be made available to residents through the shelves of the Dongjak-gu Family Center.
The Dongjak-gu Family Center provides education, counseling, and child care for multicultural, single-parent, working, and remarried families living in Dongjak-gu to help prevent and solve family problems. Hanwha has also organized its own volunteer group for the children of the Dongjak-gu Family Center, reading children's books and making music books.
“We will continue to conduct many activities to help multicultural families and local residents live together and grow together as a society with diverse cultures,” said an official from the center.
