[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시가 ‘용인~충주 고속도로 민간투자사업’이 추진되면 처인구 남북 지역을 최단 거리로 연결하는 도로가 갖춰지게 될 것이라고 밝혔다.
17일 시에 따르면 국토교통부가 신속하게 진행하는 롯데건설이 올 초 국토교통부에 제안한 이 사업은 처인구 모현읍에서 포곡읍, 원삼면, 백암면을 거쳐 충북 충주시 신니면까지 연결되는 도로를 개설하는 것이다.
국토교통부는 내부 검토를 거친 뒤 8월 한국개발연구원(KDI) 공공투자관리센터에 민자 적격성 조사를 의뢰했다.
이 도로가 완공되면 고속도로 접근이 어려웠던 원삼면·백암면 지역 주민들이 편리하게 이동을 할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 원삼면 126만평에 SK하이닉스가 122조원을 투자해 반도체 팹 4기를 건설 중인 용인반도체클러스터 일반산업단지와의 접근도 용이해진다는 게 시의 관측이다. 시는 또 이 도로가 만들어지면 이천시 SK하이닉스 등과의 물류 이동이 편리해 질 것으로 기대하고 있다.
