[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 국내 최대 장애인 스포츠 대축제인 제44회 전국장애인체육대회가 25일 김해시에서 화려하고 감동적인 개막식을 갖고 6일간의 열전에 돌입했다.
경남에서는 14년 만이자 주 개최지인 김해에서는 처음 열리는 이번 장애인체전은 선수단과 임원 등 1만여 명이 참가해 오는 30일까지 김해종합운동장을 중심으로 경남 12개 시·군, 37개 경기장에서 31개 종목별 메달레이스를 펼친다. 경남도 선수단은 총 517명이며 김해시에서는 선수 63명이 22개 종목에 참여한다.
대회 시작을 밝혀줄 성화 봉송은 25일 오전 8시 30분 김해시립합창단과 우리소리예술단의 축하공연을 시작으로 오전 9시 5분 김해시청을 출발해 장유동, 진영읍, 내외동, 삼계동을 거쳐 오후 12시 35분 김해종합운동장이 있는 구산동에 도착한다. 오후 6시 개회식 행사에서 성화 봉송과 점화 퍼포먼스에 이어 6일간 김해종합운동장 성화대를 밝힌다.
