[브레이크뉴스=강동호 기자] 함양군 백전면 동백마을의 강병구(62) 이장 부부가 5년째 매주 지역 사회에 유정란을 기탁하며 따뜻한 나눔을 실천하고 있어 훈훈함을 전하고 있다.
2018년 백두대간의 마지막 구간인 백운산 아래 동백마을로 귀농한 강 이장 부부는 친환경 양계장을 운영하며 ‘이웃과 함께하는 삶’이라는 귀농 당시의 다짐을 실천 해오고 있다.
특히 강 이장은 2020년 11월 백전면 지역사회보장협의체와 복지 업무협약을 체결한 뒤 5년째 매주 면사무소에 200구, 지역 보육원에 150구의 신선한 유정란을 기탁하고 있다.
기탁된 유정란은 홀몸 어르신, 저소득층, 한부모가정 등 취약계층에 전달돼 이들의 식생활 개선과 건강 증진에 실질적인 도움이 되고 있다.
2025년부터 마을 이장직을 맡은 강 이장은 “퇴직 후 고향으로 돌아와 지역 사회의 일원으로서 작은 힘이나마 나눌 수 있어 기쁘다”라며 “앞으로도 이웃과 함께하는 삶을 계속 실천해 나가고 싶다”라고 말했다.
강 이장의 부인 이금용 씨 또한 지역 사회에서 활발히 활동 중이다.
함양군아동위원협의회 위원으로서 아동복지 향상에 힘쓰고 있으며, 관내 초등학교 방과후 교실에서 독서토론 재능기부를 통해 아이들의 창의력과 표현력 증진에 기여하고 있다.
