[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시가 전략산업으로 육성 중인 바이오헬스 산업에 새로운 동력을 더할 ㈜코웰메디의 제2공장이 강서구 에코델타시티 산업단지내에서 준공식을 개최했다.
24일 오전 10시, 강서구 에코대로37번길 30에 위치한 ‘㈜코웰메디 글로벌이노베이션 센터’에서 열린 준공식에는 박형준 부산시장, 강서구청장, 기업 관계자 등 150여 명이 참석했다.
행사는 환영사, 축사, 경과보고 및 감사패 수여, 테이프 커팅식, 센터 투어 순으로 진행됐다.
㈜코웰메디 글로벌이노베이션 센터는 지상 2층 규모로 조성된 첨단 스마트 팩토리로, 치과용 임플란트의 생산 및 수출을 위한 최첨단 자동화 생산공정과 연구개발(R&D) 설비를 갖춘 것이 특징이다. 해당 공장은 에코델타시티(EDC) 도시첨단산업단지 내 6,917㎡ 부지에 들어섰다.

한편, 시는 지난 23일 대우제약과의 투자협약에 이어 이날 코웰메디 준공식 참석 등 기업 방문 행보를 이어가며, 바이오헬스 산업을 포함한 전략산업 육성에 대한 강한 의지를 재확인했다.
부산시는 지난해 12월 발표한 ‘제6차 전략산업 육성 종합계획(마스터플랜)’을 통해 바이오헬스산업을 포함한 9대 전략산업을 선정하고 체계적인 산업기반 조성을 추진하고 있다.
