【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=KH한국건강관리협회(회장 김인원, 이하 건협)가 지난 5월 28일부터 6월 26일까지 한 달간 비대면 방식으로 진행한 ‘2025년 자선 걷기대회(1차: 직원·직원 가족 대상)’를 성공적으로 마무리했다고 밝혔다.
이번 대회는 직원과 가족, 한국희귀난치성질환연합회 회원 등 총 2,794명이 참여했으며, 협회 자체 개발 걷기 앱 ‘메디워크(Mediwalk)’를 활용해 하루 1만 보, 30일간 총 30만 보 걷기 미션을 수행하는 방식으로 운영됐다.
참가자들의 걸음 수는 총 6억 565만 보에 달했으며, 여기에 1,000보당 100원을 환산한 금액인 6,056만 5,800원이 희귀난치성질환 환우 치료비로 기부될 예정이다.
단순한 걷기 활동을 넘어 건강미션 인증과 응원 메시지 전달 이벤트도 함께 진행되어 참여자들의 건강 증진과 나눔 실천이라는 두 마리 토끼를 잡았다.
참가자들의 누적 걸음은 탄소 절감 약 554톤, 나무 식재 효과 약 8만 4천 그루에 해당하는 환경적 기여로 이어지며, ESG(환경·사회·지배구조) 실천의 모범사례로 주목받았다.
김인원 회장은 “이번 자선 걷기대회는 올해 총 3차례 예정된 시리즈 중 첫 번째 행사”라며 “향후 기업고객과 내원 고객을 대상으로 한 대회로 확장할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
이어 “국민 건강과 사회공헌을 동시에 실현할 수 있는 공익 캠페인을 지속적으로 펼쳐 나가겠다”고 덧붙였다.

The cumulative steps of participants led to environmental contributions equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by approximately 554 tons and planting approximately 84,000 trees, and was recognized as an exemplary case of ESG (environment, society, and governance).
Chairman Kim In-won said, “This charity walking event is the first of a series of three events scheduled for this year,” and added, “We plan to expand it to include corporate customers and visiting patients in the future.”
He added, “We will continue to carry out public interest campaigns that can simultaneously realize national health and social contribution.”
