[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산 시민들의 자발적 참여로 결성된 ‘톤필드 합창단’이 오는 30일(수) 오후 7시 30분, 부산 경성대역 인근 돌체아트홀(21센추리시티 오피스텔 2002호)에서 창단 공연을 갖는다.
이번 공연은 전석 무료로 진행되며, 시민 누구나 관람이 가능하지만 원활한 운영을 위해 사전 예약이 필수다.
톤필드 합창단은 2024년 KNN방송교향악단 베토벤 ‘합창’ 공연을 준비하며 인연을 맺은 시민 음악인들이 중심이 되어 창단되었다. 부산 지역 일반 시민들이 자발적으로 모여 결성된 이 합창단은 지역 공동체와 호흡하고 음악을 나누는 것을 핵심 가치로 삼는다.
초대 상임지휘는 김정한 지휘자가 맡았다. 김 지휘자는 부산대 성악과를 졸업한 후, 이탈리아에서 합창지휘를 전공한 전문가로, 부산오페라단, 솔오페라단 등에서 활동한 바 있다. 또한 부산여교사합창단, 미즈챔버콰이어, 그리고 대중예술을 접목한 예문쇼콰이어, 한스쇼콰이어 등 다양한 무대에서 합창 예술의 저변을 넓혀온 인물이다. 특히 청소년합창 활성화에 기여하며 플래시몹 등 기획 공연을 이끈 경험도 풍부하다.
김 지휘자는 톤필드라는 이름에 대해 “다양한 음색(톤)이 모인 들판(필드)이라는 의미”라며, “각기 다른 소리가 조화를 이루는 앙상블을 지향한다”고 설명했다. 이어 “이번 공연은 정형화된 합창 무대에서 벗어나 파티 형식의 구성으로 기획됐다”며, “관객과 함께 호흡하고 즐기는 공연을 만들고자 한다”고 밝혔다.

이번 창단 공연은 ‘ToneField Choir 창단공연 & 파티’라는 이름으로 구성된다. 쇼케이스 형태의 프로그램은 아카펠라, 팝, 한국가곡 등 장르를 넘나드는 다양한 레퍼토리를 포함하고 있다.
공연은 총 3파트로 구성된다.
1부 무대에서는 김정한 지휘자의 지휘 아래 합창단이 Dona Nobis Pacem, 청산에 살리라를 선보이며 시작된다. 이어 피아니스트 박다은이 드뷔시의 Clair de lune를 연주하고, 소프라노 강정수, 바리톤 유경한이 각각 O mio babbino caro, O sole mio 등을 선보인다. 합창단은 The Rose, You Raise Me Up으로 마무리한다.
2부는 창단 파티 형식으로, 건배와 담소, 즉석 노래와 박수로 관객과 함께 하는 시간을 갖는다. 이 자리에는 테너 양수배가 E lucevan le stelle를 열창하며 특별 무대를 꾸민다.
3부에서는 ‘K-pop 캐논’(편곡 전경호)이 합창단과 함께 피날레를 장식한다.
톤필드 합창단은 앞으로도 지역사회와 긴밀히 연대하며 다양한 공연을 기획할 예정이다. 시민 누구나 참여 가능한 ‘PUB Choir’ 형태의 대중 공연을 포함해, 국내외 예술가들과의 협업도 계획 중이다. 정기연주 시리즈를 통해 지역에 음악적 울림을 꾸준히 확산하는 것이 목표다.
강여순 단장은 “모든 이가 합창을 통해 따뜻한 세상을 경험하길 바란다”며, “음악에 자신감이 없거나 발성에 어려움을 느끼는 이도 함께할 수 있도록 열린 자세와 체계적 교육으로 누구나 즐길 수 있는 합창 문화를 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.
톤필드 합창단의 첫 무대는 시민 중심의 문화예술 공동체 실현과 지역 음악 저변 확대의 출발점이 될 것으로 기대된다.

ToneField Choir was founded by a group of local music enthusiasts who first came together during the 2024 KNN Symphony Orchestra's performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony ("Choral"). United by their shared love for music, they have since formed a citizen-driven choir with a strong focus on community connection and musical sharing.
The choir is led by Conductor Jeonghan Kim, a graduate of Pusan National University who studied vocal music before earning a conducting degree in Italy. Kim is recognized as one of Korea’s foremost choral conductors and has led ensembles such as the Busan Opera Company, Sol Opera Company, Busan Women Teachers' Choir, and Miz Chamber Choir. He has also contributed to youth choir development through projects such as the YesMun Show Choir and Hans Show Choir, known for integrating pop culture elements like flash mobs into choral performances.
Explaining the meaning behind the choir's name, Kim said, “‘ToneField’ symbolizes a field where diverse tones come together in harmony. We aim for a choral ensemble that blends each unique voice into a living, breathing musical organism.” He added, “This first performance is designed as more than a concert--it’s a party-like event where the audience becomes part of the music.”
The program titled “ToneField Choir Inaugural Concert & Party” will be presented in a showcase format, crossing genres from classical to K-pop and Korean art songs. The evening will unfold in three parts:
