창원시 출신인 이 대표는 포항제철축구단 선수 생활을 시작으로 마산공고, 전북현대, 경남FC, 안산그리너스 등에서 지도자 경험을 쌓았으며, 김천상무 단장, 대한축구협회 대회분과위원장 등 축구 행정 경험도 풍부해 구단 운영에 적합한 인물로 평가받고 있다.
