대구시는 2023년부터 구·군 단위로 실태조사를 실시하고 있으나, 전문 인력 부족과 예산 한계로 형식적인 조사에 그치는 경우가 많아, 노후화·파손·분실 등 문제가 빈번하게 발생하고 있다.
정 의원은 “설치된 작품이 공공예술로서 기능을 다하지 못하면 도시 미관과 시민 안전에도 영향을 미칠 수 있다”며, “작품 설치만큼이나 지속적이고 체계적인 사후관리가 중요하다”고 강조했다.
또한 그는 “대구시는 현행 관리 방안을 면밀히 점검하고, 필요하다면 제도 개선이나 조례 정비도 검토해야 한다”며, “전문 인력 확보와 예산 반영을 통해 시민들이 언제나 안전하게 예술을 향유할 수 있는 환경을 만들어야 한다”고 당부했다.
정 의원은 “건축물 미술작품은 ‘길 위의 예술’로 도시 품격을 높이고 시민 문화 향유에 기여해왔다”며, “앞으로도 이러한 역할이 지속될 수 있도록 내실 있는 관리 체계를 갖춰야 한다”고 덧붙였다.

Daegu City Councilor Jeong Il-gyun has raised concerns about the current state of post-construction management of artworks in buildings and urged the city to develop a more systematic and effective management plan.
