일산소방서가 가을철 등산객 증가에 대비해 산악안전지킴이를 운영하며 산악사고 예방과 안전한 산행문화 정착에 적극 나서고 있다.
일산소방서는 23일 지난 9월부터 10월 말까지 매주 토요일 일산동구 성석동 고봉산 영천사 진입로 일대에서 의용소방대원 20여명이 참여한 산악안전지킴이 활동을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

산악안전지킴이는 등산로 주변 순찰 및 위험요소 점검을 비롯해 산불예방 캠페인, 간이구조·구급함 점검, 등산로 쓰레기 줍기 등 환경정화 활동을 펼쳤다.
특히 간이 응급의료소를 운영하며 등산객을 대상으로 심폐소생술 교육과 혈압·체온 측정 서비스를 제공했다.
또한 실족 등 응급상황 발생 시 신속한 초기 응급처치를 지원하는 등 현장 중심의 맞춤형 안전서비스를 제공해 등산객들로부터 호평을 받았다.
일산소방서 관계자는 "가을철은 단풍 구경을 위한 등산객이 집중되면서 산악사고가 빈번하게 발생하는 시기"라며 "시민들이 안전하게 가을 산행을 즐길 수 있도록 현장 안전활동을 지속적으로 강화하고 있다"고 말했다.
이어 "앞으로도 의용소방대와 긴밀히 협력해 시민 중심의 예방활동을 펼치고 소중한 생명을 보호하는 데 최선을 다하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
한편 일산소방서는 산악사고 예방을 위해 등산 전 기상정보 확인, 체력에 맞는 등산로 선택, 안전장비 착용 등을 당부했다.
