파주시의회 이정은·목진혁 의원은 10월 22일 파주시의회 1층 세미나실에서 파주시 주민자치연합회와 간담회를 열었다.

이날 간담회에는 이정은·목진혁 의원을 비롯해 파주시 자치협력과장 등 관계 공무원과 제3기 파주시 주민자치회 읍·면·동 회장 등 8명이 참석해 주민자치회 운영 과정에서의 고충을 청취하고 관련 조례 개정 등 개선 방안을 논의했다.
주민자치회 회장단은 풀뿌리 자치 활성화와 민주적 참여의식 제고를 위해 ▲행정부서와의 협력 네트워크 강화 ▲주민자치 활동공간 확보 ▲분과위원회 포함 수당 인상 등 다양한 행정적 지원을 요청했다.
이정은 의원은 “현장에서 주민자치회를 지원하는 공무원들의 노고에 감사드린다”며 “주민자치회가 제 역할을 다할 수 있도록 자치협력과에서 제도적·행정적 지원을 아끼지 말아 달라”고 말했다.
이어 “시의회도 효율적인 주민자치회 활동을 위한 제도와 정책 개선을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.
목진혁 의원은 “주민자치회에서 제기한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 관련 조례를 면밀히 검토하고 필요한 부분을 개정해야 한다”며 “단체 운영 과정에서 발생하는 갈등은 상호 존중의 태도에서부터 해결될 수 있다. 주민자치회가 관계 부서와 협력적 관계를 유지해 좋은 성과를 거두길 바란다”고 전했다.
